Foods That Will Make Your Hair Grow Faster

long-hair-care-tipsI don’t know about you, but every time I see a celebrity with long, shiny locks, I tend to grin with envy. Sometimes, I tell myself that they got those gorgeous locks because they spend most of their free time in the salon. But the truth is, if you want to have long, luscious hair that is bouncing with health, you need to pamper it from inside and out. And yes, beautiful hair starts with a healthy diet.

There are several foods that can give your hair growth a boost. Here is a list of foods that will make your hair grow faster.

Oysters

Zinc deficiency is said to be one of the major causes of hair loss and dandruff. Good news is, you can get them from oysters.

Zinc plays a role in keeping your hair follicles functioning properly. By incorporating it into your diet, you’ll have long, healthy hair before you know it.

Beans, cashews, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds are also great sources of zinc.

Salmon

This fish contains nutrients that enhance hair growth. Salmon is packed with protein, Vitamin D and Omega-3 fatty acids.

Other sources of Omega-3 are walnuts, flax seeds, chia seeds and hemp seeds. Our body is not capable of producing fatty acids, which is why it is important that you include these foods into your diet.

Sweet potatoes

Sweet potatoes are loaded with beta-carotene, the precursor of Vitamin A that promotes hair growth and healthy scalp.

Food sources of beta carotene include, dark leafy vegetables and any red or orange produce like watermelon, tomatoes, cantaloupe, pumpkin and carrots.

Eggs

Eggs are a great way to get a complete protein addition to your diet. Even better, this breakfast favorite is also a great source selenium and biotin, which is often taken by people who are trying to grow their hair.

Contrary to popular belief, it is the yolk that will make your hair long and beautiful, not the egg whites. In fact too much consumption of egg whites may hinder the absorption of biotin in the body.

Oats, brown rice and nuts are also loaded with biotin.
